Vogt Christian

Born in Basle, Switzerland in 1946, Christian Vogt is photographing since 1969 and has gained international reputation as an artist. Individual exhibitions include: The Photographer's Gallery, London; ICP, New York; Kunsthaus, Zürich; Yajima Gallery, Montreal; Felix Handschin Galerie, Basel; Focus Gallery, San Francisco; Ray Hawkins Gallery, Los Angeles; The Tel Aviv Museum, Israel; etc. Recipient of Swiss National Scholarships, the first Grand Prix Triennale of Fribourg, Canada Council Grant, Art Director's Awards from Switzerland, Germany, New York und Los Angeles; the 'Clio' Award, New York, 1992 ; „Kulturpreis der Stadt Basel“, 1991; etc. His work is represented in numerous private and public collections including Bibliotheque Nationale, Paris; Swiss Foundation for Photography, Winterthur; Musée de l'Elysee, Lausanne; Modern Museet, Stockholm; Hoffmann Stiftung, Gegenwartsmuseum, Basel; Polaroid Collection, Cambridge, USA; etc.
