Open
edition
A
photo or a specific print size is not limited in edition. Signed copies are indicated.
Limited
edition
The number (XX) designates the total size of the edition. All prints are signed by their authors (unless otherwise stated), either on recto, on verso or on a label / sticker. Stickers have the advantage that a print can be mounted without losing the signature.
Artist's
proofs
An artist reserves the right to print up to five copies of any size, usually for the purpose of quality control or his own expositions and promotion. These copies are counted apart of the numbered editions and are labeled “artist's proof I-V”. In some cases and once a regular edition is sold out, an artist's proof might be sold as well.
Out-of-size
copy
You might want a print different than our pre-defined sizes. This is sometimes possible, simply ask for an out-of-size copy! We will inform you personally about any additional options. (If not indicated otherwise out-of-size copies will always be counted within the edition number of the superior copy size of a photo!)
Giclée
prints
"Giclée" is french and means as much as "sprayed. Images are generated from high resolution digital scans and printed with archival quality inks onto acid free Hahnemuehle fine art paper. Inks are pigment-based and the color accuracy and the incredible details obtained have made this printing technique a standard for museums and art galleries.
By means of three lasers (red, green, blue)
digitised images are printed onto traditional photographic paper.
Inkjet
prints
Four color CMYK printing in which
liquid inks are sprayed onto the receiving paper in tiny droplets not
visible to the naked eye.
